London man arrested after stabbing a woman outside a school in St. Marys

London (United Kingdom), Feb 13: A London man has been arrested after a woman was stabbed multiple times outside a school in St. Marys, Ont., police say.
Shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday, Stratford police say a man and a woman were involved in an altercation in the parking lot of Little Falls Public School.
During the altercation, the woman was stabbed by the 36-year-old man several times before she was able to run and seek help at the school, police say.
Local emergency crews attended the scene and the woman was first taken to St. Marys General Hospital before being transported to Victoria Hospital in London to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
Stratford police issued a release asking for the public's assistance in locating the man and said they would be seeking an arrest warrant for the offence of attempted murder.
Police arrested the man shortly after. There's no word on whether these charges were laid.
Little Falls Public School was placed on lockdown to allow police to investigate and collect evidence. Students were allowed to move freely inside the school and classes continued as normal.
Police say there is no concern for public safety, as they believe the altercation was an isolated incident.
