Ford U.S. sales grow 10.5 pct in February

Chicago [US], March 5: Ford Motor Co. announced Monday that it sold 174,192 cars and trucks in the United States in February, up 10.5 percent from 157,606 sold in February 2023.
The Dearborn-based automaker attributed the sales increase to sustained demand for family crossover SUVs, pickup trucks and hybrid vehicles.
To be specific, Ford's electric vehicle (EV) sales went up 80 percent year on year to 6,368 units; hybrid sales were up almost 32 percent to a record 12,045 units; and SUVs sales rose about 22 percent to 76,403 units.
Internal combustion engine vehicles remained the majority of Ford's new vehicles sales, going up 7.5 percent.
Sales of F-Series pickup trucks dropped 5.8 percent year over year, while that of all-electric F-150 Lightning went up 93 percent in February.
Early February, Ford stopped shipment of F-150 Lightning for a longer-than-expected quality check process as a result of an undisclosed issue.
Honda Motor Co. Ltd. U.S. sales went up 32 percent in February, and Subaru Corp.'s sales were up 3.1 percent, The Detroit News reported Monday.
