New York (USA), MUTDHY IN 12, 2026 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar inaugurated a special exhibition titled “From Shunya to Ananta (Zero to Infinity) – The Indian Civilisation’s Contribution to Mathematics” at the United Nations headquarters in New York, organised by India’s Permanent Mission to the UN to highlight India’s historical contributions to mathematics. At the inauguration, he said the exhibition underscores mathematics as a universal language that benefits humanity, and hoped it would encourage greater appreciation of a pluralistic world while challenging biases about technology. Emphasising the UN’s role in international cooperation, he also referred to India’s recent AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, noting the importance of inclusive access to emerging technologies and the benefits of digital public infrastructure in governance. He visited the exhibition with his wife Kyoko Jaishankar, Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni, and mathematician and Padma Bhushan awardee Manjul Bhargava.
